Here are a few more picture of work from this summer at CPCC Summer Theatre. I did not have a lot of time to take pictures, because we were cranking out a show every 2 weeks, I am grateful for those taken and shared by others so I have something to show for my work. If you have facebook you can find a few more pictures on the CPCC arts page.

The Headdress was from Damn Yankees. It was huge, over 3 foot tall. You can see just the banana section sitting on my head was the size of a large hat. The base was a large turban topped with the bananas and other fruit, with a fountain of feathers coming out the top.

The leotard was for the cricket in The Pinocchio Show. The script was odd not one I would have chosen but the costume designs were a lot of fun to make. You can also see the arm and knee pads I recovered for the Pinocchio character.

 SPAMALOT

Here are a few pictures of some of the tabards and chainmaille  I made for CPCC Summer Theatre's production of Spamalot. Sadly the photo call was not all that I had hoped for, but I did get a couple of interesting shots.

With Lancelot's tabard you can see much of the detail  work which went into it. Also the fact that it had to quickly come apart, made for an interesting challenge. Because the designer wanted a lightweight chainmaille, I spent many days crocheting sleeves and hoods for the actors. But the final effect
was great. I even got my own round of applause at a
talk back, so I think it was considered a success. If I were to ever do it again, I would choose a different yarn which would hold up to the wear and tear of stage better. I was given the supplies and not asked my opinion so, you work with what you have.
